The Inclusive Person helps create more inclusive workplaces, recognizing that inclusion drives innovation and high performance.
Through assessments, actionable recommendations, and employee education, we empower companies to foster a culture of belonging where every individual and the business can thrive.
The Presidential Executive Orders of early 2025 have impacted the decades-long efforts to help workplaces be more representative of their communities and be places where people feel included regardless of their personal characteristics. However, important aspects of this work remain not only legal, but also critical to an organization's longevity and success.
The Inclusive Person can help ensure your existing efforts align with the newly announced and evolving guidelines.
If you don't yet have initiatives focused on generating opportunities for a wide variety of qualified people to get hired, develop, and feel like they belong, The Inclusive Person can help get you started.
If you have tried other efforts that didn't achieve your desired results or just fell away, The Inclusive Person can help get you back on track.
It just takes one impactful person to see this work as necessary to the organization's success, and we can build from there. Contact us today to learn how The Inclusive Person can help your business and your people thrive.
FOR LEADERS
INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP and PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY
In order to have a culture where people feel they belong and can do their best work, leaders must set the tone. To that end, we examine an inclusive leadership framework – the four areas leaders can improve for employees to thrive. Additionally, research shows that the most successful teams have high levels of psychological safety. This session provides tips to boost it in the workplace.
INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP for NON-PROFITS
This session will empower non-profit leaders with practical strategies to effectively lead their diverse membership. Participants will explore how to embrace different perspectives, foster inclusivity, and create an environment where every member feels valued and heard. By focusing on inclusive leadership and psychological safety, the session will help attendees cultivate a supportive, motivating atmosphere that encourages volunteer engagement and long-term commitment. Ultimately, the session aims to equip leaders with the tools to strengthen the organization's impact and ensure its continued success.
INCLUSIVE HIRING
This session touches on the positive impacts of having a workforce that is representative of the communities it serves. It also addresses how to make the hiring process less discriminatory so that the most qualified talent can be identified and hired.
FOR ALL EMPLOYEES
INCLUSION & BELONGING FUNDAMENTALS and UNCONSCIOUS BIAS
This session introduces the concepts and importance of creating a sense of belonging at work. We also explore unconscious bias – where it comes from and how we can interrupt it for better interactions and decision-making.
MICRO-MESSAGING and BYSTANDER TO UPSTANDER BEHAVIOR
We may be harming the experience and performance of colleagues by the subtle messages we’re unknowingly sending, also known as micro-messaging. We’ll identify micro-aggressions and discuss how to incorporate micro-affirmations instead.
Another area most workplaces can improve in is skilling up employees to take action when they see or hear something disrespectful or contrary to company values. We’ll provide practical tips to go from being a bystander to an upstander.
THINKING & COMMUNICATION STYLES
Based on the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument, attendees explore all four thinking and communication styles, identify which of the four styles they’re dominant in, and practice flexing into a style other their own for improved outcomes when working with others.
CULTURAL ADAPTABILITY
This session highlights the five themes that tend to characterize cultural differences and similarities, how we see ourselves, and how we perceive others who are different than us. We also explore tips for navigating and avoiding misunderstandings across cultural differences.
GENERATIONAL APPRECIATION
This session increases our understanding of the characteristics of the five generations in our current workforce. We’ll learn steps to harness the power of that variety among our colleagues and apply it in real-life situations.
LGBTQ+ INCLUSION
This session guides attendees through key LGBTQ+ terminology and relevant legal protections. It also provides practical recommendations regarding pronoun usage, being an ally, and creating a workplace where LGBTQ+ employees feel welcomed, included, and valued.
"I had the privilege of working with Victoria Person, a remarkable diversity, equity, and inclusion thought leader, whose expertise in learning and development, instructional design, and workshop facilitation was transformative for our organization. She also helped us navigate uncharted territory following the killing of George Floyd in 2020, demonstrating a rare ability to meet each employee where they were at and creating enduring organizational change one employee at a time. Her ability to tailor initiatives to our unique needs and align them with our business goals in those turbulent times was truly impressive." - Dawn Andrews, Access Leadership Coaching
"Victoria is an experienced advisor every organization needs in this critical time of unprecedented change. She takes challenging, often complex, concepts and breaks them down in a way that helps everyone feel it should matter to them and they should be invested in its solution. This ability to bring people together and align everyone on shared purpose is essential for driving business impact and organizational success." - MyMy Lu, Petco
"I have known Victoria and worked with her in both the D&I and Leadership Training arenas for several years as a vendor to her company and as a colleague and friend. Victoria has a deep and empathetic understanding and command of all concepts and issues D&I. In front of a room of any and all kinds of leaders (D&I or not) she demonstrates every facet of what it means to facilitate a room. She creates an inclusive environment and, with her brilliant wit, has the skills to facilitate deep conversations and stimulate interaction without bias. Her communication is clear; she shows empathy, listens actively and manages conflicts that arise in the room. But most importantly, she is passionate for what she does, how she does it and what she believes in. Her integrity is impeccable. I would highly and strongly recommend this person." - Natalie Spiro, Drum Cafe North America
